How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word
It only takes moments to produce a coloring page with any theme you prefer in Microsoft Word , and there is a wealth of images to select from. These instructions will walk you through the method.
Microsoft Word is not only for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, you can even use this versatile software in several other ways, including making your own personal coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover steps to make coloring pages you could print out, premade, on your individual home printer. The process is quick and easy, and the variety of options is nearly limitless.
Step 1: Open a whole new blank document in Microsoft Word.
Step 2: From the Insert tab on the Word ribbon, click the Clip Art button.
Step 3: The Clip Art panel should easily be visible for the right side of the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results needs to be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it’s going to speed up your pursuit time somewhat.
Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you wish to include in your research. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked to ensure I can search as broad an array as possible. Note here, you will definately get far more results should your computer is coupled to the Internet as you will also have access to all with the clip art which is available from Office Online.
Step 5: Enter an account of what you wish to search for within the Search box. Here, I’m just carrying out a general hunt for Christmas, however, you can narrow this down if you’re only enthusiastic about images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or another type, for example.
Step 6: Select an image you prefer, and click on it. It will appear inside the main portion of your document. Resize the style as needed either by dragging the borders in the picture to a fresh location or by using the resizing technique explained here.
If the picture you’ve chosen can be a black and white outline, you’re done and may print the coloring page now. However, if you selected a graphic with color, you will find there’s few more steps to travel.
Step 7: With the style selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools on the Word ribbon.
Step 8: Click on the down arrow beside Recolor to expand that menu, and choose the Grayscale option under Color Modes.
At now, in case you are very pleased with the appearance of your coloring page, you are able to stop and print it. However, sometimes the look may still be a little dark colored. You can lighten it inside the following step.
Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness in your satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to increase the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend on the image you’re dealing with and your individual personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page is fully gone and ready to print. If you want a little more variety, try adding several images on the same page. For some extra fun, print the images on cardstock paper so that your hand-colored drawings could be sent out as holiday handmade cards, or use labels so that your kids can color their own stickers.
