How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word

It only takes moments to create a coloring page with any theme that suits you in Microsoft Word , and there’s a wealth of images to select from. These instructions will walk you through the process.

Microsoft Word it not just for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, you can also use this versatile software in a number of other ways, including making your own coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover how to make coloring pages that you can print out, available, on your own personal home printer. The process is easy and quick, as well as the variety of options is practically limitless.

Step 1: Open a fresh blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab for the Word ribbon, click on the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should be visible for the right side with the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results ought to be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it’s going to speed up your pursuit time a lttle bit.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you want to include in your pursuit. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked to ensure that I can search as broad a range as possible. Note here, you will get far more results should your computer is attached to the Internet when you will also have usage of all of the clip art which is available from Office Online.

Step 5: Enter some of what you would like to search for inside Search box. Here, I’m just conducting a general hunt for Christmas, but you can narrow this down if you are only thinking about images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or some different, for example.

Step 6: Select an image that suits you, and click on it. It will appear inside the main section of your document. Resize the picture as needed either by dragging the borders with the picture to a whole new location or utilizing the resizing technique explained here.

If the style you’ve chosen is a black and white outline, you’re done and will print the coloring page now. However, should you selected a graphic with color, you will find there’s few more steps to travel.

Step 7: With the style selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools for the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click on the down arrow close to Recolor to be expanded that menu, and choose the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At this aspect, if you are happy with the appearance of your coloring page, you can stop and print it. However, sometimes the picture may still be a little dark colored. You can lighten it in the following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness in your satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to improve the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend about the image you’re utilizing and your personal personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page is finished and ready to print. If you want a somewhat more variety, try adding several images on the same page. For some extra fun, print out the images on cardstock paper in order that your hand-colored drawings can be sent out as holiday cards, or use labels in order that your kids can color their own stickers.
