Microsoft Word it not just for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, you can also use this versatile software in many other ways, including making your personal coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover steps to make coloring pages you could print out, pre-made, on your own personal home printer. The process is simple and fast, and also the variety of options is nearly limitless.
Step 1: Open a fresh blank document in Microsoft Word.
Step 2: From the Insert tab for the Word ribbon, go through the Clip Art button.
Step 3: The Clip Art panel should be visible about the right side of the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results must be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it is going to speed up your research time a little.
Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you wish to include in your quest. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked so that I can search as broad a variety as possible. Note here, you will definately get far more results should your computer is connected to the Internet since you will also have use of all with the clip art which is available from Office Online.
Step 5: Enter an explanation of what you would like to search for inside the Search box. Here, I’m just carrying out a general seek out Christmas, however you can narrow this down in case you are only thinking about images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or another type, as an example.
Step 6: Select an image you prefer, and click on it. It will appear within the main section of your document. Resize the look as needed either by dragging the borders from the picture to a new location or with the resizing technique explained here.
If the picture you’ve chosen is a black and white outline, you’re done and can print the coloring page now. However, should you selected a graphic with color, you will find there’s few more steps to go.
Step 7: With the style selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools for the Word ribbon.
Step 8: Click around the down arrow next to Recolor to expand that menu, and choose the Grayscale option under Color Modes.
At this time, if you are satisfied with the appearance of your coloring page, you are able to stop and print it. However, sometimes the picture may still be described as a little too dark. You can lighten it in the following step.
Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness for a satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to raise the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend for the image you’re utilizing and your own personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page is finished and ready to print. If you want a a bit more variety, try adding several images on the same page. For some extra fun, print out the images on cardstock paper so that your hand-colored drawings might be sent out as holiday greeting cards, or use labels to ensure your kids can color their very own stickers.
