How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word

It only takes moments to produce a coloring page with any theme that suits you in Microsoft Word , and there is a wealth of images to choose from. These instructions will walk you through the process.

Microsoft Word it not just for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, it’s also possible to use this versatile software in many other ways, including making your own personal coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover how to make coloring pages that one could print out, available, on your individual home printer. The process is quick and easy, and also the variety of options is nearly limitless.

Step 1: Open a new blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab about the Word ribbon, click the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should now be visible for the right side from the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results needs to be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it’s going to speed up your quest time a lttle bit.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you want to include in your research. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked so that I can search as broad a variety as possible. Note here, you will definately get far more results if your computer is attached to the Internet when you will also have use of all of the clip art which is available from Office Online.

Step 5: Enter an explanation of what you need to search for in the Search box. Here, I’m just performing a general hunt for Christmas, however, you can narrow this down if you’re only considering images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or another type, for that matter.

Step 6: Select an image you like, and click on it. It will appear within the main section of your document. Resize the style as needed either by dragging the borders from the picture to a new location or utilizing the resizing technique explained here.

If the look you’ve chosen is really a black and white outline, you’re done and may print the coloring page now. However, in the event you selected a graphic with color, there exists a few more steps to go.

Step 7: With the style selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools around the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click around the down arrow beside Recolor to grow that menu, and judge the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At this aspect, in case you are pleased with the appearance of your coloring page, you are able to stop and print it. However, sometimes the picture may still be described as a little darker and uneven. You can lighten it inside following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness for your satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to raise the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend on the image you’re dealing with and your individual personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page is finished and ready to print. If you want a bit more variety, try adding several images for the same page. For some extra fun, use the images on cardstock paper in order that your hand-colored drawings may be sent out as holiday homemade cards, or use labels to ensure that your kids can color their own stickers.
