How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word

It only takes moments to generate a coloring page with any theme you like in Microsoft Word , and there is a wealth of images out there. These instructions will walk you through the task.

Microsoft Word isn’t just for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, you can even use this versatile software in several other ways, including making your own coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover how to make coloring pages that one could print out, ready to use, on your individual home printer. The process is easy and quick, as well as the variety of options is almost limitless.

Step 1: Open a fresh blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab on the Word ribbon, click on the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should now be visible around the right side from the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results needs to be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it’s going to speed up your research time a little.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you need to include in your pursuit. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked in order that I can search as broad an array as possible. Note here, you will get far more results should your computer is coupled to the Internet since you will also have access to all of the clip art which is available from Office Online.

Step 5: Enter an explanation of what you wish to search for inside the Search box. Here, I’m just conducting a general look for Christmas, however you can narrow this down if you are only thinking about images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or another type, as an example.

Step 6: Select an image you like, and click on it. It will appear inside main section of your document. Resize the picture as needed either by dragging the borders of the picture to a brand new location or by using the resizing technique explained here.

If the image you’ve chosen is really a black and white outline, you’re done which enable it to print the coloring page now. However, in the event you selected a graphic with color, you will find there’s few more steps to visit.

Step 7: With the picture selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools for the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click for the down arrow next to Recolor to grow that menu, and choose the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At this aspect, if you are very pleased with the appearance of your coloring page, you can stop and print it. However, sometimes the image may still be described as a little darker and uneven. You can lighten it in the following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness for a satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to improve the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend around the image you’re working together with and your own personal personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page is finished and ready to print. If you want a little more variety, try adding several images towards the same page. For some extra fun, use the images on cardstock paper so that your hand-colored drawings can be sent out as holiday homemade cards, or use labels in order that your kids can color their unique stickers.
