How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word

It only takes moments to create a coloring page with any theme that suits you in Microsoft Word , then there is a wealth of images out there. These instructions will walk you through the method.

Microsoft Word isn’t only for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, it’s also possible to use this versatile software in many other ways, including making your own coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover making coloring pages you could print out, available, on your individual home printer. The process is fast and simple, and the variety of options is nearly limitless.

Step 1: Open a whole new blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab about the Word ribbon, click on the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should easily be visible on the right side in the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results ought to be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it will speed up your search time somewhat.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you wish to include in your pursuit. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked so that I can search as broad a variety as possible. Note here, you’ll get far more results in case your computer is connected to the Internet because you will also have access to all of the clip art which is available from Office Online.

Step 5: Enter a description of what you want to search for inside Search box. Here, I’m just conducting a general look for Christmas, however you can narrow this down if you’re only interested in images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or anything else, for that matter.

Step 6: Select an image you prefer, and click on it. It will appear within the main part of your document. Resize the picture as needed either by dragging the borders in the picture to a brand new location or by using the resizing technique explained here.

If the look you’ve chosen is really a black and white outline, you’re done and will print the coloring page now. However, if you selected a graphic with color, there exists a few more steps to visit.

Step 7: With the look selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools for the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click about the down arrow close to Recolor to expand that menu, and choose the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At now, in the event you are happy with the appearance of your coloring page, you’ll be able to stop and print it. However, sometimes the style may still be a little too dark. You can lighten it in the following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness for a satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to raise the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend around the image you’re dealing with and your own personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page ends and ready to print. If you want a a bit more variety, try adding several images to the same page. For some extra fun, print the images on cardstock paper in order that your hand-colored drawings could be sent out as holiday homemade cards, or use labels to ensure that your kids can color their very own stickers.
