How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word

It only takes moments to make a coloring page with any theme you want in Microsoft Word , and there is a wealth of images out there. These instructions will walk you through the method.

Microsoft Word it not just for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, it’s also possible to use this versatile software in a lot of other ways, including making your own personal coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover learning to make coloring pages that one could print out, pre-made, on your individual home printer. The process is easy and quick, along with the variety of options is almost limitless.

Step 1: Open a whole new blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab on the Word ribbon, click on the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should easily be visible on the right side from the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results should be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it will speed up your pursuit time a little.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you want to include in your research. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked so that I can search as broad a variety as possible. Note here, you will definately get far more results if the computer is coupled to the Internet because you will also have entry to all with the clip art which is available from Office Online.

Step 5: Enter a description of what you want to search for inside the Search box. Here, I’m just conducting a general hunt for Christmas, however, you can narrow this down if you are only thinking about images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or another type, for instance.

Step 6: Select an image that suits you, and click on it. It will appear inside main portion of your document. Resize the style as needed either by dragging the borders of the picture to a new location or with the resizing technique explained here.

If the picture you’ve chosen is really a black and white outline, you’re done which enable it to print the coloring page now. However, should you selected a graphic with color, there exists a few more steps to visit.

Step 7: With the picture selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools about the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click about the down arrow beside Recolor to expand that menu, and judge the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At this point, in case you are happy with the appearance of your coloring page, it is possible to stop and print it. However, sometimes the style may still be considered a little darker and uneven. You can lighten it in the following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness in your satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to raise the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend around the image you’re working with and your personal personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page is fully gone and ready to print. If you want a little more variety, try adding several images towards the same page. For some extra fun, print out the images on cardstock paper to ensure your hand-colored drawings may be sent out as holiday greeting cards, or use labels to ensure that your kids can color their unique stickers.
