How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word

It only takes moments to generate a coloring page with any theme you want in Microsoft Word , and there’s a wealth of images out there. These instructions will walk you through the procedure.

Microsoft Word isn’t only for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, it’s also possible to use this versatile software in several other ways, including making your individual coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover making coloring pages that you could print out, ready to use, on your individual home printer. The process is easy and quick, and also the variety of options is practically limitless.

Step 1: Open a new blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab around the Word ribbon, click the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should now be visible for the right side in the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results must be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it’s going to speed up your pursuit time a little.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you need to include in your quest. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked in order that I can search as broad an array as possible. Note here, you’ll get far more results if your computer is attached to the Internet because you will also have use of all from the clip art which is available from Office Online.

Step 5: Enter an explanation of what you need to search for within the Search box. Here, I’m just doing a general seek out Christmas, however, you can narrow this down if you’re only enthusiastic about images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or some different, for example.

Step 6: Select an image you prefer, and click on it. It will appear inside the main part of your document. Resize the image as needed either by dragging the borders with the picture to a new location or using the resizing technique explained here.

If the picture you’ve chosen is often a black and white outline, you’re done which enable it to print the coloring page now. However, in the event you selected a graphic with color, we have a few more steps to visit.

Step 7: With the image selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools for the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click for the down arrow next to Recolor to flourish that menu, and judge the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At this point, if you are satisfied with the appearance of your coloring page, you can stop and print it. However, sometimes the style may still be a little too dark. You can lighten it inside the following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness for a satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to improve the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend around the image you’re working with and your own personal personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page is completed and ready to print. If you want a bit more variety, try adding several images for the same page. For some extra fun, use the images on cardstock paper in order that your hand-colored drawings can be sent out as holiday handmade cards, or use labels to ensure that your kids can color their very own stickers.
