How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word

It only takes moments to generate a coloring page with any theme you prefer in Microsoft Word , and there is a wealth of images to choose from. These instructions will walk you through the process.

Microsoft Word isn’t just for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, you can also use this versatile software in many other ways, including making your own personal coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover how to make coloring pages that you could print out, ready to use, on your personal home printer. The process is fast and simple, along with the variety of options is almost limitless.

Step 1: Open a brand new blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab for the Word ribbon, go through the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should certainly be visible on the right side with the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results must be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it is going to speed up your search time a bit.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you would like to include in your quest. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked so that I can search as broad a variety as possible. Note here, you’ll get far more results if your computer is attached to the Internet when you will also have entry to all in the clip art available from Office Online.

Step 5: Enter a description of what you need to search for inside the Search box. Here, I’m just conducting a general hunt for Christmas, however, you can narrow this down if you’re only enthusiastic about images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or anything else, for instance.

Step 6: Select an image you like, and click on it. It will appear inside main part of your document. Resize the image as needed either by dragging the borders of the picture to a new location or utilizing the resizing technique explained here.

If the style you’ve chosen is a black and white outline, you’re done and may print the coloring page now. However, should you selected a graphic with color, we have a few more steps to visit.

Step 7: With the picture selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools around the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click about the down arrow close to Recolor to flourish that menu, and choose the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At this time, in case you are happy with the appearance of your coloring page, it is possible to stop and print it. However, sometimes the image may still be considered a little dark colored. You can lighten it inside following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness in your satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to improve the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend about the image you’re working with and your personal personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page ends and ready to print. If you want a somewhat more variety, try adding several images for the same page. For some extra fun, use the images on cardstock paper to ensure your hand-colored drawings can be sent out as holiday greeting cards, or use labels in order that your kids can color their own stickers.
