How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word

It only takes moments to produce a coloring page with any theme you want in Microsoft Word , and there’s a wealth of images to select from. These instructions will walk you through the task.

Microsoft Word isn’t only for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, you can even use this versatile software in a lot of other ways, including making your own coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover making coloring pages that one could print out, pre-made, on your individual home printer. The process is fast and simple, as well as the variety of options is actually limitless.

Step 1: Open a new blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab around the Word ribbon, click on the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should be visible on the right side from the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results must be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it is going to speed up your research time a bit.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you need to include in your search. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked to ensure I can search as broad an array as possible. Note here, you will definately get far more results if your computer is connected to the Internet since you will also have usage of all with the clip art which is available from Office Online.

Step 5: Enter an explanation of what you wish to search for inside the Search box. Here, I’m just conducting a general look for Christmas, however, you can narrow this down in case you are only enthusiastic about images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or some different, for example.

Step 6: Select an image you prefer, and click on it. It will appear in the main part of your document. Resize the look as needed either by dragging the borders with the picture to a new location or using the resizing technique explained here.

If the image you’ve chosen is a black and white outline, you’re done and will print the coloring page now. However, if you selected a graphic with color, there exists a few more steps to go.

Step 7: With the look selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools for the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click on the down arrow alongside Recolor to grow that menu, and choose the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At this time, should you are satisfied with the appearance of your coloring page, you can stop and print it. However, sometimes the look may still certainly be a little darker and uneven. You can lighten it inside following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness for your satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to raise the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend for the image you’re working together with and your individual personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page is completed and ready to print. If you want a a bit more variety, try adding several images for the same page. For some extra fun, use the images on cardstock paper so that your hand-colored drawings can be sent out as holiday cards, or use labels so that your kids can color their particular stickers.
