It only takes moments to produce a coloring page with any theme that suits you in Microsoft Word , then there is a wealth of images from which to choose. These instructions will walk you through the process.

Microsoft Word it not just for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, you can also use this versatile software in a lot of other ways, including making your own personal coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover steps to make coloring pages you could print out, premade, on your own personal home printer. The process is easy and quick, and also the variety of options is practically limitless.

Step 1: Open a new blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab around the Word ribbon, click on the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should now be visible on the right side of the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results must be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it’ll speed up your research time a bit.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you would like to include in your research. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked to ensure I can search as broad an assortment as possible. Note here, you will get far more results if your computer is attached to the Internet because you will also have usage of all of the clip art offered by Office Online.

Step 5: Enter a description of what you need to search for inside the Search box. Here, I’m just conducting a general hunt for Christmas, however you can narrow this down if you’re only considering images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or another type, for example.

Step 6: Select an image you like, and click on it. It will appear inside the main section of your document. Resize the picture as needed either by dragging the borders in the picture to a fresh location or using the resizing technique explained here.

If the style you’ve chosen is often a black and white outline, you’re done and may print the coloring page now. However, in the event you selected a graphic with color, you will find there’s few more steps to travel.

Step 7: With the picture selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools about the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click about the down arrow alongside Recolor to expand that menu, and choose the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At now, should you are happy with the appearance of your coloring page, you’ll be able to stop and print it. However, sometimes the picture may still be a little darker and uneven. You can lighten it in the following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness to your satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to boost the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend on the image you’re utilizing and your own personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page is finished and ready to print. If you want a bit more variety, try adding several images on the same page. For some extra fun, print out the images on cardstock paper to ensure that your hand-colored drawings might be sent out as holiday greeting cards, or use labels to ensure your kids can color their unique stickers.
