How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word

It only takes moments to make a coloring page with any theme you prefer in Microsoft Word , as there are a wealth of images to choose from. These instructions will walk you through the method.

Microsoft Word it not just for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, you can even use this versatile software in a lot of other ways, including making your own coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover how to make coloring pages that you could print out, ready to use, on your personal home printer. The process is simple and fast, along with the variety of options is practically limitless.

Step 1: Open a brand new blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab for the Word ribbon, click the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should be visible on the right side from the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results should be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it’s going to speed up your search time a lttle bit.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you need to include in your research. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked so that I can search as broad an assortment as possible. Note here, you will get far more results should your computer is connected to the Internet since you will also have usage of all in the clip art offered by Office Online.

Step 5: Enter a description of what you wish to search for inside the Search box. Here, I’m just conducting a general look for Christmas, however you can narrow this down if you are only interested in images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or another type, for instance.

Step 6: Select an image that suits you, and click on it. It will appear within the main part of your document. Resize the picture as needed either by dragging the borders in the picture to a new location or utilizing the resizing technique explained here.

If the picture you’ve chosen is really a black and white outline, you’re done and will print the coloring page now. However, should you selected a graphic with color, there exists a few more steps to travel.

Step 7: With the image selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools around the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click for the down arrow alongside Recolor to grow that menu, and select the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At this aspect, should you are happy with the appearance of your coloring page, you can stop and print it. However, sometimes the image may still certainly be a little too dark. You can lighten it inside following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness to your satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to increase the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend about the image you’re working together with and your own personal personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page is finished and ready to print. If you want a somewhat more variety, try adding several images on the same page. For some extra fun, use the images on cardstock paper in order that your hand-colored drawings might be sent out as holiday cards, or use labels in order that your kids can color their very own stickers.
