How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word

It only takes moments to generate a coloring page with any theme you prefer in Microsoft Word , as there are a wealth of images to choose from. These instructions will walk you through the procedure.

Microsoft Word it not just for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, it’s also possible to use this versatile software in a number of other ways, including making your own coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover learning to make coloring pages that you can print out, pre-made, on your own home printer. The process is fast and simple, and the variety of options is almost limitless.

Step 1: Open a new blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab around the Word ribbon, click the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should easily be visible around the right side of the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results must be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it’s going to speed up your quest time a lttle bit.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you would like to include in your quest. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked to ensure I can search as broad an assortment as possible. Note here, you’re going to get far more results if your computer is connected to the Internet as you will also have entry to all of the clip art provided by Office Online.

Step 5: Enter some of what you need to search for in the Search box. Here, I’m just doing a general search for Christmas, however, you can narrow this down if you’re only considering images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or another type, for instance.

Step 6: Select an image you like, and click on it. It will appear inside main section of your document. Resize the look as needed either by dragging the borders with the picture to a whole new location or utilizing the resizing technique explained here.

If the style you’ve chosen is often a black and white outline, you’re done and may print the coloring page now. However, in the event you selected a graphic with color, you will find there’s few more steps to travel.

Step 7: With the picture selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools about the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click around the down arrow next to Recolor to flourish that menu, and judge the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At this point, in the event you are pleased with the appearance of your coloring page, you can stop and print it. However, sometimes the style may still be described as a little dark colored. You can lighten it within the following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness to your satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to increase the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend about the image you’re working with and your personal personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page is fully gone and ready to print. If you want a a bit more variety, try adding several images on the same page. For some extra fun, print the images on cardstock paper to ensure your hand-colored drawings can be sent out as holiday homemade cards, or use labels so that your kids can color their own stickers.
