How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word

It only takes moments to generate a coloring page with any theme you prefer in Microsoft Word , and there is a wealth of images out there. These instructions will walk you through the procedure.

Microsoft Word is not only for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, you can even use this versatile software in many other ways, including making your own coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover learning to make coloring pages you could print out, premade, on your own home printer. The process is simple and fast, as well as the variety of options is practically limitless.

Step 1: Open a new blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab around the Word ribbon, click on the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should be visible around the right side with the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results needs to be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it’s going to speed up your pursuit time a little.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you need to include in your search. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked so that I can search as broad an assortment as possible. Note here, you will definately get far more results should your computer is connected to the Internet since you will also have use of all from the clip art offered by Office Online.

Step 5: Enter an account of what you want to search for inside Search box. Here, I’m just doing a general search for Christmas, however, you can narrow this down if you are only considering images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or some different, for example.

Step 6: Select an image you like, and click on it. It will appear inside main part of your document. Resize the image as needed either by dragging the borders in the picture to a brand new location or with the resizing technique explained here.

If the picture you’ve chosen can be a black and white outline, you’re done and will print the coloring page now. However, in case you selected a graphic with color, you will find there’s few more steps to travel.

Step 7: With the picture selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools for the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click on the down arrow next to Recolor to expand that menu, and select the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At this aspect, should you are very pleased with the appearance of your coloring page, it is possible to stop and print it. However, sometimes the image may still be considered a little darker and uneven. You can lighten it inside following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness to your satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to boost the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend for the image you’re utilizing and your personal personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page is fully gone and ready to print. If you want a bit more variety, try adding several images towards the same page. For some extra fun, use the images on cardstock paper to ensure your hand-colored drawings can be sent out as holiday homemade cards, or use labels in order that your kids can color their particular stickers.
