How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word

It only takes moments to make a coloring page with any theme you prefer in Microsoft Word , and there’s a wealth of images from which to choose. These instructions will walk you through the task.

Microsoft Word isn’t just for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, you can even use this versatile software in many other ways, including making your own personal coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover steps to make coloring pages you could print out, premade, on your individual home printer. The process is fast and simple, and also the variety of options is actually limitless.

Step 1: Open a new blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab on the Word ribbon, click the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should easily be visible for the right side from the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results should be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it’ll speed up your pursuit time somewhat.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you want to include in your quest. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked to ensure I can search as broad a range as possible. Note here, you will get far more results should your computer is attached to the Internet as you will also have use of all of the clip art which is available from Office Online.

Step 5: Enter a description of what you wish to search for within the Search box. Here, I’m just carrying out a general search for Christmas, however, you can narrow this down in case you are only thinking about images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or anything else, for instance.

Step 6: Select an image you want, and click on it. It will appear in the main section of your document. Resize the picture as needed either by dragging the borders in the picture to a whole new location or utilizing the resizing technique explained here.

If the image you’ve chosen is often a black and white outline, you’re done and will print the coloring page now. However, in case you selected a graphic with color, you will find there’s few more steps to visit.

Step 7: With the look selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools around the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click on the down arrow beside Recolor to expand that menu, and judge the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At this time, should you are happy with the appearance of your coloring page, you can stop and print it. However, sometimes the look may still be a little dark colored. You can lighten it within the following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness in your satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to boost the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend about the image you’re working together with and your personal personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page is completed and ready to print. If you want a a bit more variety, try adding several images for the same page. For some extra fun, print the images on cardstock paper so that your hand-colored drawings could be sent out as holiday cards, or use labels to ensure your kids can color their particular stickers.
