How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word

It only takes moments to produce a coloring page with any theme you prefer in Microsoft Word , as there are a wealth of images to choose from. These instructions will walk you through the task.

Microsoft Word is not only for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, it’s also possible to use this versatile software in a number of other ways, including making your individual coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover making coloring pages you could print out, pre-made, on your individual home printer. The process is quick and easy, and also the variety of options is practically limitless.

Step 1: Open a new blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab around the Word ribbon, click on the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should easily be visible about the right side of the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results ought to be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it is going to speed up your pursuit time a little.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you would like to include in your pursuit. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked to ensure that I can search as broad a variety as possible. Note here, you’re going to get far more results if your computer is attached to the Internet when you will also have use of all in the clip art offered by Office Online.

Step 5: Enter an explanation of what you wish to search for in the Search box. Here, I’m just doing a general hunt for Christmas, but you can narrow this down in case you are only considering images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or another type, for example.

Step 6: Select an image you like, and click on it. It will appear inside main portion of your document. Resize the look as needed either by dragging the borders in the picture to a brand new location or using the resizing technique explained here.

If the image you’ve chosen is a black and white outline, you’re done and may print the coloring page now. However, if you selected a graphic with color, there exists a few more steps to look.

Step 7: With the style selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools about the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click for the down arrow alongside Recolor to be expanded that menu, and select the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At this aspect, if you are happy with the appearance of your coloring page, you’ll be able to stop and print it. However, sometimes the look may still be considered a little dark colored. You can lighten it inside the following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness for your satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to increase the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend for the image you’re working with and your own personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page ends and ready to print. If you want a somewhat more variety, try adding several images on the same page. For some extra fun, print out the images on cardstock paper so that your hand-colored drawings can be sent out as holiday greeting cards, or use labels in order that your kids can color their particular stickers.
