How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word
It only takes moments to produce a coloring page with any theme you prefer in Microsoft Word , as there are a wealth of images out there. These instructions will walk you through the process.
Microsoft Word isn’t just for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, you can also use this versatile software in a number of other ways, including making your personal coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover making coloring pages that you can print out, ready to use, on your own home printer. The process is fast and simple, along with the variety of options is practically limitless.
Step 1: Open a brand new blank document in Microsoft Word.
Step 2: From the Insert tab for the Word ribbon, go through the Clip Art button.
Step 3: The Clip Art panel should be visible for the right side in the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results should be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it is going to speed up your research time a little.
Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you would like to include in your quest. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked to ensure I can search as broad a range as possible. Note here, you’re going to get far more results should your computer is attached to the Internet since you will also have access to all from the clip art which is available from Office Online.
Step 5: Enter an account of what you wish to search for in the Search box. Here, I’m just performing a general look for Christmas, however you can narrow this down if you are only interested in images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or some different, as an example.
Step 6: Select an image you prefer, and click on it. It will appear inside main part of your document. Resize the picture as needed either by dragging the borders in the picture to a new location or utilizing the resizing technique explained here.
If the look you’ve chosen is a black and white outline, you’re done and may print the coloring page now. However, if you selected a graphic with color, we have a few more steps to travel.
Step 7: With the style selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools for the Word ribbon.
Step 8: Click around the down arrow close to Recolor to expand that menu, and choose the Grayscale option under Color Modes.
At now, in the event you are happy with the appearance of your coloring page, you’ll be able to stop and print it. However, sometimes the style may still be described as a little too dark. You can lighten it inside following step.
Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness for a satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to increase the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend about the image you’re working together with and your individual personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page ends and ready to print. If you want a bit more variety, try adding several images towards the same page. For some extra fun, print the images on cardstock paper so that your hand-colored drawings might be sent out as holiday handmade cards, or use labels in order that your kids can color their very own stickers.
