How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word

It only takes moments to produce a coloring page with any theme you want in Microsoft Word , and there is a wealth of images out there. These instructions will walk you through the task.

Microsoft Word it not just for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, you can also use this versatile software in several other ways, including making your individual coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover how to make coloring pages that one could print out, pre-made, on your own home printer. The process is easy and quick, and also the variety of options is nearly limitless.

Step 1: Open a whole new blank document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: From the Insert tab about the Word ribbon, click on the Clip Art button.

Step 3: The Clip Art panel should easily be visible about the right side in the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results must be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it will speed up your research time a bit.

Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you want to include in your quest. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked in order that I can search as broad an array as possible. Note here, you’re going to get far more results if your computer is coupled to the Internet as you will also have usage of all from the clip art which is available from Office Online.

Step 5: Enter a description of what you would like to search for inside Search box. Here, I’m just doing a general seek out Christmas, but you can narrow this down if you are only interested in images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or some different, for instance.

Step 6: Select an image you like, and click on it. It will appear inside main a part of your document. Resize the look as needed either by dragging the borders in the picture to a new location or by using the resizing technique explained here.

If the look you’ve chosen is really a black and white outline, you’re done and may print the coloring page now. However, in case you selected a graphic with color, you will find there’s few more steps to go.

Step 7: With the look selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools on the Word ribbon.

Step 8: Click around the down arrow close to Recolor to expand that menu, and judge the Grayscale option under Color Modes.

At this aspect, should you are happy with the appearance of your coloring page, you are able to stop and print it. However, sometimes the look may still be described as a little dark colored. You can lighten it inside following step.

Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness in your satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to increase the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend about the image you’re dealing with and your own personal personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page ends and ready to print. If you want a little more variety, try adding several images on the same page. For some extra fun, use the images on cardstock paper so that your hand-colored drawings could be sent out as holiday greeting cards, or use labels to ensure that your kids can color their unique stickers.
