How to Make Printable Coloring Pages in Microsoft Word
It only takes moments to make a coloring page with any theme you like in Microsoft Word , and there’s a wealth of images to choose from. These instructions will walk you through the task.
Microsoft Word isn’t only for the office anymore. In addition to writing letters and research reports, it’s also possible to use this versatile software in a number of other ways, including making your individual coloring pages. In the following steps, we’ll cover how to make coloring pages that you could print out, premade, on your own home printer. The process is fast and simple, as well as the variety of options is almost limitless.
Step 1: Open a brand new blank document in Microsoft Word.
Step 2: From the Insert tab around the Word ribbon, click on the Clip Art button.
Step 3: The Clip Art panel should be visible around the right side in the application. First, expand the dropdown box under Results must be and uncheck everything but Clip Art. Although this step isn’t completely necessary, it’s going to speed up your pursuit time somewhat.
Step 4: Next, expand the Search in dropdown list and select which locations you would like to include in your research. In this example, I am leaving Everything checked to ensure I can search as broad an array as possible. Note here, you’ll get far more results if the computer is connected to the Internet because you will also have access to all of the clip art which is available from Office Online.
Step 5: Enter some of what you would like to search for in the Search box. Here, I’m just performing a general seek out Christmas, however you can narrow this down should you be only enthusiastic about images of reindeer, Christmas trees, or another type, for example.
Step 6: Select an image you want, and click on it. It will appear inside main portion of your document. Resize the look as needed either by dragging the borders of the picture to a fresh location or with the resizing technique explained here.
If the look you’ve chosen is really a black and white outline, you’re done and may print the coloring page now. However, in the event you selected a graphic with color, we have a few more steps to go.
Step 7: With the style selected, open the Format tab under Picture Tools on the Word ribbon.
Step 8: Click for the down arrow next to Recolor to grow that menu, and choose the Grayscale option under Color Modes.
At this aspect, if you are very pleased with the appearance of your coloring page, you’ll be able to stop and print it. However, sometimes the image may still be considered a little too dark. You can lighten it inside following step.
Step 9: Expand the Brightness menu, and adjust the brightness in your satisfaction. In this particular example, I chose to raise the brightness by 30%. The amount you choose will depend on the image you’re utilizing and your own personal preferences.
Now, the coloring page is fully gone and ready to print. If you want a bit more variety, try adding several images towards the same page. For some extra fun, print out the images on cardstock paper to ensure that your hand-colored drawings may be sent out as holiday handmade cards, or use labels so that your kids can color their very own stickers.
